Bill started his Scouting career in Cub Scouts in 1980, and in 1985 he became an Assistant Scoutmaster when is two sons, when his older sons, Jamie and Jody, joined Troop 84 where they earned the Eagle rank. Bill started going to Skymont in 1983 and became involved in the OA in 1991 and came back the next year and got his Brotherhood. After his sons earned their Eagle Scout rank in the mid 90's he became a Unit Commissioner. Bill started working with Troop 9 with his youngest son, Ethan, who achieved his Eagle Scout in 2008.
In 2009 Bill helped start an Explorer post in Trenton, which has been exciting as well as a challenge. Bill was awarded the "District Award of Merit" in 2008, and also received the "Scouter's Key" award. Bill has earned several Cub Scout leader knots and a Ttrainer's knot. Bill is now back where he started, by being his grandson's Tiger cub leader. Bill says the one thing he has enjoyed most of all in Scouting is watching young boys become young men in just a few years, with a new meaning in life.
Bill went thru Wood Badge as a mighty Buffalo in SR-444 in 2002, and was on staff in 2005 on SR-655. Bill is an Assistant Quartermaster on S6-556-11-1 and he is looking forward to a great course.
